As one of the oldest ice hockey clubs in the region, with over 60 years of history, the Aces are proud to play an important role in the local sporting community. Following recent changes within local hockey structures, the Aces are now the main senior ice hockey team representing Altrincham and the surrounding area.

The Aces are a dedicated development team focused on helping young players transition into senior hockey. We provide athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, gain valuable experience in senior league competition, and progress into higher levels of the sport. Our aim is not only to develop better hockey players, but also to support confidence, discipline, teamwork, and personal growth both on and off the ice.

The 2025/2026 season was also a landmark year for the club, with the team winning the Hockey Hound Trophy — our first trophy in over 20 years. This achievement reflects the growth, ambition, and commitment within the organisation and highlights the positive direction the club is moving towards.

Our reach extends far beyond Altrincham. Throughout the season, we travel across the North West to compete, giving our sponsors visibility across multiple towns, cities, venues, and sporting communities. In addition to league fixtures, the club is involved in multiple events throughout the year, including community engagement activities, development programmes, club events, and supporter-focused experiences.

Ice hockey is also one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, with increasing attendance figures, growing online engagement, and expanding grassroots participation year after year.
